WÜRG is an amazing rock venue in a small town called Wülfrath in the Mettman District of Germany.
What a venue. It is run very enthusiastically by the in-house team. Every night was a sell out for Ian Bruce and Victor Besch and that trend continued when Katharina Bramkamp and Frank Deckert joined to make a four-piece.
What better place to record a live gig?
Well. To be honest, it was more like a live recording session. It was amazing fun. The music was well appreciated as was the the out take material. Crazy crazy night and it's beautifully captured here.
The download includes a PDF of the CD Cover and Booklet.

BLACK WEDDING DAY (Ian M. Bruce/Victor C. Besch) The guests stood silently clutching their handkerchiefs Thoughts of the bride; tears filled every eye. Her skin so smooth. Porcelain pale As she gazed from the gallery on her own wedding day. Some sang reservedly, Some counting rosaries. Father of the bride couldn't give her away. But he did give the eulogy, hope in the tale, Which was heard by the bride on her Black Wedding Day Managing their misery, filing past family But the groom stands alone. He's got nothing to say. Cruel was the hand of fate, twisting the tail. Robbed of his bride on his Black Wedding Day Wedding guests everywhere. From the graveyard they stand and stare The bride sees her casket go deep in the clay. palms to the chosen one. She will not fail To go not alone on her Black Wedding Day.

PRINCE OF THE PYLONS (Ian M. Bruce) Chant Bønna's gonna ride on your behalf the high wire Bønna's gonna ride his skybike with its wheels of fi-re. repeat Blind panic reigns throughout this town. I can see no light for miles around. Dark brings fear when the power goes down. Senses heightened to every sound. Around each corner an enemy! I can feel them creeping up on me! This is not where I want to be! Emergency! Emergency! Chorus Call out the Prince of the Pylons In driving snow or the dead of the ]night. Call out our high-viz hero He got the pow-e-er To make it alright. Chant..... Verse 2 So much missing when the power is gone. Flick my switch and it won't come on. My turntable won't go round. All my speakers make no sound. No remote control for this or that. Can't charge my phone when the battery's flat. Shiver shiver. Freezing feet! Central heating gives no heat! Chorus... Chant....

PEACE AT THE END OF THE DAY (Ian M. Bruce/Victor C. Besch) So many things you've done So many rising suns You rigidly stuck to the plan Too sore to walk on air Relax in your favourite chair. You know that you've done all you can Peace at the end of the day. Peace at the end of the day. As you climb up the wooden hill Feeling contented still On the hard times to come will you dwell? Some days are not the best. Everyone needs their rest I hope that you sleep very well Peace at the end of the day Peace at the end of the day No time to procrastinate No need to investigate Time is the master no more People you've pacified Justifiable satisfied You've heard it all before Yeah yeah yeah Rich in your memories Time is your currency Spend it the way that you will All that you worked towards brought you some just rewards I'm glad that you're spending them still Peace at the end of the day Peace at the end of the day

White Flower 03:36
WHITE FLOWER (Ian M. Bruce) 1914 Saw The Great War begin Times of great turmoil for all kith and kin. But through the grim poppies of the red and the blue. One single white flower grew. And all through the valleys the town clocks resound Male voices seep from the ground. And sing with the sirens from dusk till till the dawn One single white flower is born. 1939 The world at war once again. Sent from their homes conscripted men Like seeds on the wind to pastures anew From Leith to Tredegar they blew. And all through the valleys the town clocks resound Male voices seep from the ground And sing with the sirens roar upon roar. The white flower’s single no more. In three different gardens roots were put down. Branches from each in turn settled down. Time marches on, and it’s so sad to say, The white flower’s fading away. And all through the valleys the town clocks ding dong We weep with the male voices’ song As sure as she’s graced us we’ve been left alone Lily of the valley’s gone home Mai hen wlad fy nhadau by crowd or by choir Sets every Welsh soul afire But we knew it gentle. We knew it shy. Lily of the valley – Goodbye Mai hen wlad dy dadai’n, gofledio di enwaith mwy.

THE TOUCH AND THE GO (Ian M. Bruce/Ian J. Walker) CHORUS We lived through the touch and the go With never a great deal to show Spending was fast while earning was slow But we laughed through the touch and the go We loved through the touch and the go Those were the days when the business was small Fearing the worst should it go to the wall. But through inclement weather we held it together. Over dead bodies would we see it fall Cries from the cradle utmost in our minds Children to feed, a mortgage to find. We'd often embrace whilst wishing for more We were never so happy as when we were poor. Then business increased just according to plan We could hardly keep up with the rising demand The thing that's so funny is both milk and honey Turned bitter-sweet for we could not withstand All the time spent on travel, the time spent apart Temptation on both sides to make a new start Love grew cold and so insecure We were never so happy as when we were poor. CHORUS The kids are all grown, they're up and all gone They took our last reason for carrying on. Once there was love and nothing above. Now business as usual is all we have won. Ambitions fulfilled but still dreams remain Dreams of the past we can never regain Hard work and good fortune brought wealth to our door But we were never so happy as when we were poor. CHORUS

RUNNING OUT OF TIME (Ian M. Bruce/Shaun Blandford) Good things come to those who wait Where did we go wrong so wrong? If it don't come soon it's gonna be too late This road's so hard and long Hopes and dreams are crumbling Where did we go wrong so wrong? Hear the rubble rumbling We keep on trudging on. Many victories came our way Where did we go wrong so wrong? But they always seem to fade to grey This road's so hard and long For all our stars and accolades Where did we go wrong so wrong? We thought we had foundations laid We keep on trudging on. The road ahead is steep inclined Climb climb climb All we ask is peace of mind But we're running out of time Everyone's freewheeling now Where did we go wrong so wrong? No wheeling free for us somehow This road's so hard and long Our feet are blistered. We don't feel strong Where did we go wrong so wrong? Gotta keep those work boots on We keep on trudging on.

GOODNIGHT, GOODNIGHT (Ian M. Bruce/Victor C. Besch CHORUS Goodnight goodnight While the stage lights still shine bright Beautiful ladies. Beautiful men. May we soon be together again. Let us sing this one last song together Raise the roof in the way we know we can Let's move and touch each other with our voices If you want ...Stamp your feet and clap your hands. CHORUS As we leave this place to face whatever weather Balmy nights or chilling to the bone. May the tunes and songs that we have shared together Keep us warm and see us safely home CHORUS
