A very well received collection of Robert Burns songs. Ian Bruce was one of the featured singers on Linn Records' The Complete Songs of Robert Burns which was produced by Dr. Fred Freeman; as was this CD. Some of these tracks were lifted direct from that collection.
THE SCOTSMAN newspaper placed this recording at Number Two in the all time great Robert Burns albums, of which there are many.
It was Ian who sang Westlin Winds when The Gadget Show were comparing Linn Hi-Fi's entry level system with it's crazy money system. Jason Bradbury preferred Ian's live version but there we are. It caused quite a stir.
